New Jersey artist Shannon O’Connell graduated summa cum laude from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in May of 2012 with Bachelors in Fine Arts, a concentration in printmaking, and a minor in psychology. Imaginative, charming, and a tad unnerving; Shannon’s art explores a mix of childhood monsters and fairy tales. She is best known for her illustrative drawings, paintings and prints. Shannon has a passion for making comics. The descriptive nature of her art naturally translates from both her fine art to graphic narrative. Inspired by titles from her childhood, e.g., Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon, and by contemporary comics, e.g., Bee and Puppycat, Shannon has always wanted to create and share her own stories with the world. She published her first full-length comic, Sugar, Spice & Pointy Things in 2016
